Polyethylene with barium sulphate for radiopacity shaped like a bug with four legs. Named after the lunar landing module, this IUD was designed for postpartum or post-abortion use - designed for retention in the enlarged, boggy postpartum uterus by means of the legs. However, the legs caused uterine perforation. The addition of the copper-beaded tail did not make the design better.
