Double S-shape with an elongated and ball-notched stem, designed to be trimmed based on uterine dimensions. This original Saf-T-Coil design was produced in April, 1965, but withdrawn due to its striking similarity to the Lippes Loop and was protested by the Ortho Pharmaceutical Corp.
