This device has a pair of initially flat, triangular sheets of silicone rubber - substantially liquid-impervious - reinforced with a sheet of non-toxic flexible, woven material (Dacron). The sheets are thermally preformed into a three-dimensional final shape and size, approximately the same dimensions as the undistorted human uterine cavity. The device is filled with a saline fluid through the tubular tail, intended to further enable the device to conform to the uterine cavity. The long silicone tail is tubular. Green multifilament thread is looped through the fundal end band, tied off and again tied near the cervical end of the device. A long tail thread is left free.
