Abstract
1. 1. One hundred patients with recent recovery from proved coronary thrombosis and myocardial infarction were studied over a three-year period as to the effect of a low cholesterol-low fat diet on the mortality and morbidity rates. 2. 2. Fifty consecutive patients were placed on a daily 20 to 25 Gm. fat diet, and fifty alternate control patients were observed on the "normal" prethrombosis diet. 3. 3. It was found that there was a trend toward a reduction in mortality and morbidity rates in coronary atherosclerotic patients on a 20 to 25 Gm. daily cholesterol-fat diet. © 1951.
