Description
This issue of The Medical Evangelist features the full text of the baccalaureate address delivered by George Thomason, M.D., F.A.C.S., on June 17, 1933, to the graduating medical and dietitian classes of the College of Medical Evangelists. The address centers on II Peter 1:5–8, framing spiritual and professional growth as a process of "spiritual addition". He outlines a progressive ladder of virtues: faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness and love that must accompany scientific training to build an enduring Christian healing ministry. Emphasizing the body as a sacred temple, absolute truthfulness, and patient perseverance in patient care, Dr. Thomason charges the graduates to lead lives of selfless service and unyielding integrity.
